Prononc. et Orth.:[]. Plur. des sampots. Ds ROB. 1985, un ex. de plur. inv. les sampot et les sarong, avec la rem.: ,,malgré l'exemple (...) on ne voit pas de raison pour ne pas écrire des sampots``. Étymol. et Hist. 1904 (Nouv. Lar. ill.). Orig. incertaine, sans doute d'un mot exotique d'Asie du sud-est.
